Rummage Sale @ Desboro Music Hall

RUMMAGE SALE at Desboro Music Hall

We are having a Rummage Sale for TWO days!  Stop on by either on

Sat July 24: 8am – 3pm

Sun July 25: 11am – 3pm.

Half of the proceeds will go to Desboro Music Hall.

This is our second fundraiser to make some money for the Music Hall.  2021 will be our second year without holding any concerts.  We are crossing our fingers that next year, we will be able to once again have concerts inside the Hall without a limit on numbers.  In the meanwhile, we have had to be a little creative in how we pay the bills.  We’re lucky as we don’t have to pay rent or layoff any staff.  We are looking forward to welcoming people back into the Hall, even if it’s not for a concert.  So come out and Support the Desboro Music Hall on July 24 or 25.

We will be following all COVID protocols.  Please wear a mask and keep 2m/6′ apart.  Patrons inside will be limited.

If you have any questions, please feel free to call us at (519) 377-2358 or email us at [email protected]

Fundraiser for CDCS with the Joy Trio @ Desboro Music Hall
Aug 12 @ 7:30 pm – 10:00 pm
Fundraiser for CDCS with the Joy Trio @ Desboro Music Hall
Come support the Music Department at Chesley District Community School with an evening of music.

The Joy Trio
Presenting Classic Songs from
Gershwin to Patsy Cline

With Special Guests: Students from CDCS

Anika Alexander, Olivia Nagle, Grace Heard, Maisie Heard

The Joy Trio formed just over a year ago. It came together rather by a turn of events as
Mike Grace had arranged a session for Susan to learn about jazz voicings with Don
Buchanan. That plan quickly changed when Susan received an invitation to entertain at a
Christmas party. The planned session became a rehearsal instead and they have played
together as a trio ever since.

Susan Joy Dietrich is proud of her roots in the Desboro Community. Her first time on stage
may have been dancing the Irish Jig with cousins in the Desboro Hall during a Fall Fair
Variety concert. Susan enjoys children, anything music and is especially enjoying this new
venture into jazz as she learns to sing classic tunes from the Great American Songbook.

For over 40 years Don Buchanan has been a keyboardist for many groups and
vocalists in the Grey Bruce area. Through this time he has also been a part of
the music ministry at St. Mary’s church in Owen Sound and has contributed
scores and music direction to several OSLT plays and musicals. Vocal
accompaniment is Don’s favourite musical task and he is honoured to play for
Sue in The Joy Trio.

Mike Grace has been a professional musician most of his life. From
playing ranch parties and road houses in Texas to touring the world with his
trio or quartet, Mike has made performing classical and jazz music his
passion. Among Mike’s most treasured moments in education is being
named a Disney-McDonald’s Performing Arts Teacher in 1996 and being
named University of Michigan Musical Society’s Educator Of The Year.
Among the many performers Mike has had the great fortune to perform with
are Dave Brubeck, Dizzy Gillespie, Mel Torme’, Rob McConnell, Roger Williams,
Urbie Green, Billy Taylor, Clark Terry, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Henry Mancini,
Jimmy Forrest, Peter Appleyard, Randy Brecker, Rosemary Clooney, Sonny Stitt.

Jesse Corrigan & The Neustadt Sound with JD Crosstown @ Desboro Music Hall
Aug 23 @ 7:00 pm – 11:00 pm
Jesse Corrigan & The Neustadt Sound with JD Crosstown @ Desboro Music Hall

Summer just isn’t summer without a night full of country music! If you’re in need of some sweet, sweltering fiddle, high & lonesome harmonies and twangin telecasters you’re in the right spot. Two singersongwriters backed by two awesomebands bring you two amazing sets of home grown, soul stirring music.

Doors open at 7 and music gets going around 7:30!

A little about the artists:

J.D. Crosstown is a Canadian Folk Singer who’s passion is in telling stories with his own words. Ones that captures the poignancy of a time and a place, of heartbreak, loss, hope, love, adventure and friendship.

Heavily inspired by the stories embedded in traditional folk, country, and blues songs, Crosstown has developed his own unique style that reflects all of these genres. From country waltzes to finger-styled blues, Crosstown always keeps people guessing on what he’ll play next.

Having many hopes and aspirations, Crosstown’s main concern is that his songs can give people a place to lean back on for a moment or two.

Jesse Corrigan:

That’s right, folks, if you’re looking for something simple, honest and pure, you’ve come to the right place. Jesse Corrigan is the real deal: no pretense, no posturing, no claims of transcendental artistry here. It’s just simply good music. Together with some of the hottest country players in southern Ontario, Corrigan puts on a show full of harmony-heavy heartbreak ballads, narrative filled songs of adventure, and telecaster fueled foot-to-the-floor barnburners.

**Please Note: Tickets are available through Jesse Corrigan or the above ticket link at Eventbrite, not our website***
