Honey Brothers
Drew McIvor
If music be romance, then Drew McIvor’s music just might be the first date: playful, chatty, honestly yearning to connect. With his trusty six-string, this charismatic crooner performs with a masterful simplicity inviting audiences not only to listen, but truly share the musical experience. His deep affection for his craft is apparent at every turn; you can feel his heart is in the music, and it is contagious.
Jayden Grahlman
Being around Jayden when he has a guitar in his hand and a song on his lips is being around a good thing. There’s nothing to figure out, it’s just musical joy. Combining effervescent, capable song writing with truly staggering guitar chops, he delivers performances that not only say “man can this guy play” but more over, “isn’t music wonderful!”
On their own these two Georgian Bay gems shine. Combined, they sparkle, offering up a beautifully melodic palette of folk, americana, gypsy swing, and acoustic soul in sweet skillful harmony.

ZACHARY LUCKY
Zachary Lucky is unapologetically old-school country, armed with a husky, baritone voice – He often receives comparisons to songwriters such as Gordon Lightfoot and Kris Kristofferson. He sings of Canadian places and people as knowingly as he might Townes Van Zandt or the Rio Grande. It’s a relatable show on many levels, and conjures universal feelings that have passed through our collective timelines. Already hailed as a master storyteller by outlets ranging from No Depression to The Globe and Mail, and recently nominated best solo artist of the year at the 2017 Canadian Folk Music Awards, Lucky’s Everywhere A Man Can Be is his most powerful statement to date.

THE KELLY SONG COLLECTIVE
The Kelly Song Collective have been together for half a century. Brothers John and Joe Kelly played air guitar to the Beatles in their bedroom, before being set loose on the Toronto bar scene; apprenticeship for the song writing and playing that defines the record.
“There’s a melancholy and rawness to the Kellys’ music that’s hard to deny. They clearly appreciate the power of words and understand how to weave them together.” Karl Magi, Hub Pages Music
Call it acoustic, folk, singer songwriter or whatever pigeon hole is trending these days, the goal is writing great songs. Maybe you’ll hear of echoes of Townes and Bob, and like Leonard and Stan, the muse remains life, love and this country.
“The Kelly Song Collective’s Unless and Until is a collection of gritty, deeply felt roots-folk songs, filled with resonant imagery, unexpected lyrical twists & turns, and a heart-on-sleeve authenticity that grabs you from the get-go.” Grant Stovel, CKUA Radio

SAFE AS HOUSES
Fresh off the release of their critically acclaimed 3rd studio album, Lucky Lucky, Safe As Houses continues to push boundaries in the folk world with their genre-splicing alternative-folk sound, infused with flecks of pop and rock. Armed with a collection of youth-driven anthems, this kinetic quintet has amassed a cult following, spiraling out from their hometown of Kitchener, ON, where bandmates Elliot Anton (guitar, vocals) and Bensen Carter (cello, bass, vocals), along with brothers Andrew Laughton (guitar, vocals) and Thomas Laughton (drums, vocals), laid the band’s monumental foundation. Chasing a more expansive sound, Safe As Houses enlisted Lauren Taylor (violin, vocals) to round out their signature string-centric arrangements and soften the edges of their soul-stirring harmonies.
Since their debut on the music scene in 2014 with their freshman album, The Fall of a Sparrow, and further fuelled by their follow-up releases, Hurricane (2016), and Lucky Lucky (2018), audiences and critics alike have celebrated their undeniable musical aptitude, praising their tight performances and likening them to legendary artists: “Their music follows in the footsteps of Mumford & Sons with orchestral arrangements and big builds…will leave you with goosebumps”-BAM Productions.
On the heels of their most recent release, Safe As Houses inspires a new generation of listeners with their fresh, energetic take on the genre, while dabbling in whimsy and nostalgia to satisfy even the most seasoned of folk enthusiasts – “If ever there was a record that could reach several generations of roots fans all at once, this might be it”-Roots Music Canada.
With the world at their feet, 2019 promises to be a definitive year for the young band with the release of their upcoming album, Lucky Lucky Deluxe.

ANDREW COLLINS TRIO
Mando maestro Andrew Collinsfinds himself –through no actual fault of his own –at the epicentre of Canada’s burgeoning acoustic/roots music scene. He didn’t invent it –but he’s certainly been a contributor, having co-founded seriously noteworthy Canadian bands like the Creaking Tree String Quartet, the Foggy Hogtown Boys and, more recently, his namesakeTrio. That’s not to mention the fact that this prolific, robust performer –comfortable on mandolin, fiddle, guitar, mandola and mandocello –composes, produces, arranges, writes and teaches across multiple genres, including a popular collision of folk, jazz, bluegrass, celtic, and classical. As Collins gathers up innumerable JUNO nominations (5) and Canadian Folk Music Awards(7)won byhisvarious ensembles, he’s zeroing in on the work he does with Trio-mates: fellow string guru Mike Mezzatesta, whose versatility shinesthrough on guitar, mandolin, fiddle and mandola, and in-the-pocket James McEleney holding it down on the bass, mandocelloand vocals. Showcasing a dizzying number of styles and instruments on stage, Collins and Co. appear tolive by the old adage, “idle hands are the devil’s workshop”, likely keeping them just ahead of his grasp.Bending and blending genres, these musical shape shifters land somewhere between the re-imagined worlds of Béla Fleck and Newgrass invader, David Grisman. They just released a new double album, grafting 11 vocal cuts (tongues) to 11 instrumentals (grooves) to create a seamless finish with their cleverly monikered double album, Tongue & Groove. Each cut is milled to perfection and represents a back-to-basics visitation on what the band does best –spontaneity of the stage and rapid-fire, improvisational exchanges.

ANNIE SUMI
Annie Sumi is an ethereal-folk artist with a unique ability to capture the subtleties of nature and spin them into melodies. Her latest release, “In the Unknown”, is a collection of stories that speak to the journey of the human-Spirit. Since the release of her debut album, she has received nominations for “New/Emerging Artist of the Year” (Canadian Folk Music Awards, 2018), “Best Singer-Songwriter” (TIMAs, 2015), “New/Emerging Artist of the Year” (Hidden Roots Collective, CFMAs, 2017), and more. This year, with the support of the Ontario Arts Council, Annie Sumi carried these landscapes of sound across Canada, coast-to-coast, and Central Europe. Her live performance is a journey into the permeable nature of the heart; she is a vulnerable vessel that consistently leaves it all on the stage, and inspires the audience to feel something.

A little about the artists:
J.D. Crosstown is a Canadian Folk Singer who’s passion is in telling stories with his own words. Ones that captures the poignancy of a time and a place, of heartbreak, loss, hope, love, adventure and friendship.
Heavily inspired by the stories embedded in traditional folk, country, and blues songs, Crosstown has developed his own unique style that reflects all of these genres. From country waltzes to finger-styled blues, Crosstown always keeps people guessing on what he’ll play next.
Having many hopes and aspirations, Crosstown’s main concern is that his songs can give people a place to lean back on for a moment or two.
Jesse Corrigan:
That’s right, folks, if you’re looking for something simple, honest and pure, you’ve come to the right place. Jesse Corrigan is the real deal: no pretense, no posturing, no claims of transcendental artistry here. It’s just simply good music. Together with some of the hottest country players in southern Ontario, Corrigan puts on a show full of harmony-heavy heartbreak ballads, narrative filled songs of adventure, and telecaster fueled foot-to-the-floor barnburners.
