Update: April 2021
To support us, we have created an event called “Keep the Music Playing at Desboro Music Hall”. Please click on the link to buy a “ticket” and donate:
Any funds raised will be used to pay our bills (tax, hydro, heat etc.) and used to buy any extra equipment (masks, sanitizer, plexiglass etc.) needed to be able to safely hold an event. If there are any funds left over, we will use it to improve the Hall and to offset the cost of holding a concert.
We have four different “tickets” available:
Eighth Note: Any Donation Amount
Quarter Note: $25
Half Note: $50
Whole Note: $100
This event goes until June 30, 2021. Please note we cannot issue a tax deductible receipt.
Thank-you for your support. We appreciate the support the community has given us over the years and we hope to continue to share the music.
Update: March 2021
Here’s what we think will happen: We will not be able to open in April for indoor concerts at our usual capacity. We are most likely postponing most of our Season to 2022. Here’s what we hope: that we will be able to hold a few smaller concerts, perhaps outside, from July to September. Or perhaps a community weekend outdoor concert series. The safety of everyone, patrons and musicians, is still our priority so what those concerts will be like, we are still trying to figure out in consultation with Public Health. It might depend on how much interest there is in either format. We also hope to have a safely distanced Rummage Sale at the Music Hall where we’ll donate a portion of the proceeds to the Hall and a portion to a charity. Of course, the feasibility of all these ideas depend on COVID restrictions and as we know, those can change week to week.
Our Hall is also open for rentals. If you know someone who needs a space to have a meeting or a class that needs distancing, the Desboro Music Hall is a great place to rent. If you want to set up a market (farmers, crafts etc) once a week (or even just once), the Desboro Music Hall has plenty of space. It would even work for a rehearsal space. If you would like a unique spot to tape a video, let us know. It has more character than a generic room and our rental fees are quite reasonable. Spread the word.
If you would like to rent the Hall or have any questions, feel free to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call (519) 377-2358.
You can follow us @desboromusic on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram to keep-up-to-date on any new developments.
We are hopeful that soon we will be able to share these wonderful musicians with you and once again gather with people outside of our circle and enjoy music together.
Take care of each other and thank-you to the continued support of all our patrons and musicians.
UPDATE: Monday June 22, 2020
We are sad to announce we have decided to postpone our 2020 Season and move it, as much as possible, to 2021. I know things look like they’re opening up, but having an indoor concert will still be a long time in the future. This decision was not taken lightly as it is financially difficult to do so but for the health and safety of our patrons and musicians, it is the only reasonable decision at this time.
Season Pass and gift certificate holders will be contacted. If you have not heard from us in the next week or two, please email us at email@example.com
We will let you know the new dates as soon as we can. And we will continue to keep an eye on restrictions and perhaps do something in the Fall, if possible.
We will continue to share concerts we hear about to share the music.
Take care of each other and stay safe and healthy.
UPDATED: May 4, 2020
With the continued emergency measures and for the safety of our patrons and musicians, we have decided to cancel our May and June shows and reschedule them for a later time.
Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call (519) 377-2358 if you have any questions.
Until we meet again, stay safe and healthy.
UPDATED: April 1, 2020
In response to the rising cases of COVID-19 and the government’s mandate to limit groups to 5 or less, we regret to announce that we have decided to postpone our first concert with Benjamin Dakota Rogers and Josh Ritchie that was to be on April 24, 2020 for the safety of our patrons and musicians. We will inform you of the rescheduled show once we know the date.
We will continue to update you on our concerts and any rescheduled concerts. If you have any questions, feel free to email us at email@example.com or call (519) 377-2358.
Please continue to practice physical distancing so that we can get back to having live concerts. And take care of each other. Thank-you to the continued support of all our patrons and musicians.
Please stay heathy,
Josephine, Phil and Joe Klages
